A World Of Monkey's

There was a group of scientist studying the behavior of a group of monkeys. They chose 4 monkeys and put them in a room. They had erected a pole in the center of the room and hung a bundle of bananas at the top of the pole.

Once the monkeys had spotted the fruit one of the monkey leaders decided to start climbing the pole to go after the food. Right as the monkey got close, the scientist would blast that monkey with high pressure water thus discouraging him from reaching the food.

Then, one by one the other monkey made the same effort until all 4 monkeys were discouraged from reaching the food. Then, the scientist replaced 1 of the 4 monkeys with a new monkey to see what happened. The new monkey to the group after some time saw the food at the top of the pole and decided to go for it. The other 3 monkeys jumped on the newbie's back and pulled him down, thus preventing him being sprayed with water. They didn't like the water and were trying to protect their new friend. The scientist then decided to start replacing the remaining 3 original monkey's one by one. So as they did the same reaction happened. This time, the Newbie monkey actually held back the other's too!

So as the replacement went on they eventually weeded out all the original monkeys and replaced them one by one. Now the group of "newbie" monkeys anytime they got a new addition, would actually prevent the others from going up the pole to get the food. Remarkable, these sets of monkeys never were sprayed or had seen any of the others sprayed, but they just instinctively knew not to travel up that pole, but never knew why.

Each monkey in their mind was discouraged by the others history in climbing that pole to get what they wanted.

When we as marketers are prospecting we are told and trained by our companies to go after our "warm market" first. Do you not think that our warm market hasn't been drug down and discouraged by other people experiences, thus pre-determining their mind for them? This is that wall that we hit after we first start our businesses and have all the high hope's and then....SLAM! Down the emotional rollercoaster we fall!

People are naturally repelled by our opportunities! They feel like they are being hunted by someone with an agenda. Let's face things in the sunlight, not everyone is as excited about our opportunities. We often target the wrong type of people to satisfy the need to achieve, or our up line sponsors commands that we "have a home meeting", "talk to everyone we meet", "call them again". Is that really the way?

We can operate that way only for so long.....

So, what are the 3% of marketers that actually make a success story doing? They are attracting people to them. They are building their businesses through a proven marketing system. They actually target their leads first, keeping their "opportunity" on the back end before throwing up all the info on them!
